It understands fixed length files which it loads as external tables. It can be a bit tricky to set up as most data these days is available as CSV, not fixed length. However, if the number of records is large it is well worth the effort.

If you don't/can't go that way you can probably find a third party tool which can manage data pumping. IB_SQL has that functionality, I believe. You can see some links to tools on the Contributed downloads page at iBPhoenix.
