Bill that's a great idea....but it doesn't work if you copy the other database to the same path, or if you rename the path....You can have two or more databases with the same Server's name, gdb name, user and passwords, structure, everything.....and you just have to change the path to change the database.....

Isnt there anything that identifies a database as the unique one?

anyway...thanks for your ideas, them make me think a lot about my app.
