It's a network (TCP/IP) error that's simply being bubbled up and reported by
Interbasf/FB. It's means that there was a connection (WinSock) open and that
the client end was "improperly" terminated, that is wasn't "closed".. You
can see this error with applications (running on PC's other than the server)
that are turned off, rather than the program shut down, for instance. Or, if
applications are coded badly and don't call Disconnect when they are shut
down, or bad network card(s), network wiring, etc.

Have noticed this error occurring lots of times in the interbase log,
what does it mean? - is it anything to worry about?
MARKINSDB (Server) Fri Apr 12 11:50:17 2002
INET/inet_error: read errno = 10054
MARKINSDB (Server) Fri Apr 12 11:50:38 2002

MARKINSDB (Server) Fri Apr 12 13:36:19 2002
