Maybe if you are always (or very often) traversing the whole
table. Selecting something with a WHERE clause (or a join) will not
benefit much.
Hit your users over the head with something substantial! :-)
I usually display a simple counter (where I deem it necessary) so they can
see that there is /some/ progress.

My vote on this feature: NO.
