Sean,
distributed. Customers may have other applications which use IB and are
under support contracts - or they might install in work computers which
also connect to IB servers at work. I reckon Network Admins and Support
personnel would be pretty angry at us if we replaced an IB installation
with Firebird - even with the technical compatibility.
