All fields (and, by extension, all domains) in FB/Interbase are nullable
unless you make them NOT NULL explicitly.

fbudf.dll (for Windows server only) has some functions equivalent to the
NVL function in Oracle. See the release notes and also the notes in the
fbudf.sql file (and fbudf.txt, if it is there).
