To my knowledge, there was a person doing that and an early release was made
with the first betas. Unfortunately, the developer became really sick and in
a year he has not been able to recover his health.
The short answer is that if you want to continue that AIX port and bring it
up to date, you have to recruit people or roll your sleeves and get your
hands on it.
