Excellent question. To which the only answer can be (given the
information available):

There is a bug in IB 6.0.2

The page size for a database, everything else being equal, should have
*no impact* on the processing of queries.


Did you compile your install from the sources or did you use a
build/install from the mers site?

Also, have you tried this test using FB RC2?
