I had the same problem.

I think the 'bug' is: the win version needs always the extension (.DLL) to
be coded. In my modest opinion, this must be catch by the Win Version, not
by the user. The SQL should be always the same, doesn't matter about the
platform used.

Anyway, I never saw in the manual that we must use the .dll extensions, and
I remember also that I spend hours trying to understand that I need to put
the extension for that to work. I think this is not in the manuals, but my
memory could be wrong.
