This is a normal behavior. If it would change the pre-compile immediately,
you might encounter problems if someone else is using the stored procedure
at the same time that you would commit the change to it. And, to make sure
that this practice is consistent, even if you are the only user connected,
you'll have to disconnect then reconnect to see your changes. If the
system is 24/7, schedule a shutdown time for everybody to get off the system.
