it depends if you want FB-specific components or more open ones
Specific components will allow you to really delve into the
capabilities of the DB engine but on the other end tie your app to on
backend.
I personnally have to use more open solutions since my customers do
not always give me the choice and although I promote FB as much as I
can, I have to be Sybase/oracle/Mssql compliant so I use the component
suite from SQL-DIRECT (www.SQL-DIRECT.COM) support is 1st class, price
good ($90 to $300 depending on source or not) and you have the choice
of at least 10 different backends. Small footprint, very fast
