Forget about netbeui protocol.

For this example, I will assume IP adress of the server 192.168.1.1

Use static IP adresses in your network.

You did not tell us what kind of OS do you are using in the clients, so:

- If they are Win95/98 machines:
Edit the file Hosts in your windows directory and add the line:
BSP 192.168.1.1

- In NT/W2K
The file Hosts is on WinNT\system32\etc\drivers (I don't remember if this is ok, try a File Locate if it is not)

Your connection should work ok now with BSP:D:\DELPHI\TEST\DEMO.GDB

It should work ok also if you use: 192.168.1.1:D:\DELPHI\TEST\DEMO.GDB

Your problem was that you don't have a DNS server in your network, and Windows could not 'translate' BSP to the IP adress.

I'm in a hurry! I hope this helps!

Subject: [ib-support] NETBEUI PROTOCOL

Hi all,

I have a problem

We have a Windows2000 server
It's name is BSP.
It's Domain name is DOP
It has got three drivers (C:, D:, E:)
My databases are in D:\Delphi\Test directory

My client is Win98 SE

I couldn't connect my database with netbeui protocol or Ip protocol

I tried following database names with IP
BSP.DOP:D:\DELPHI\TEST\DEMO.GDB
BSP:D:\DELPHI\TEST\DEMO.GDB

There is a problem but I haven't found it.

May be, I can connect with netbeui protocol
I tried following database names with Netbeui
(sharing name is delphi and it's in D:\Delphi directory in the server)
\\BSP\DELPHI\TEST\DEMO.GDB
\\BSP\D:\DELPHI\TEST\DEMO.GDB

How can I connect this database.
Connection protocol is not important for us.
But IP protocol is recommended.
Because we have using Ip protocol for 2 years, bu may be netbeui.

Bye
