problem.
This is a matter of HOW the perl script is being run, and
probably a bug in that area.
We need to know WHAT is connected when the update happens,
as that will determine if the multiple copies of the data
are being maintained. You said that the sweeping does not
affect the rate of growth, so are there more records in the
database than you actually expect? In my case, the raw data
never exceeded 5Mb, but the database would double every 15
mins, so is the situation that your database actually has
more data than you expect?
You said initially that 50Mb when down to 11Mb. If that is
the case, then we should be able to 'reset' the databse to
re-use the 39Mb without a backup and restore.
I think there are two things going on here. More data than
you expect along with growth due to the additional data
records and the way transactions are being handled.
