If we wanted to follow the animal theme, my suggestion would be...

MySQL has their dolphin (I believe recently named squeal?)-

PostgreSQL has their elephant...

Firebird, in keeping with the sports tank philosophy, could be a rhino :)

they are fast and armored like a tank...not much like a bird though.

what bird is big, tough, and fast ?
