(sigh!), the big surprise is that Firebird did not too! I've switched to
Firebird, and I will support them buying the FB 1.0 cd will be available. I
really things they (you are involved too, right?) are the right guys to do
what has to be done (from a programmer, technical view), without that bad
marketing drive.

It's easy to explain: do you remember DDT? I hope it's forbidden in all
places now. When you applied it, you not only killed the plagues you want to
kill, but you affected beneficial insects, contaminated the soil, the water,
the animals and finally yourself. The cure was worse than the sickness.

When trying to see if the issue could be removed, I found myself in the same
state that AV products when facing one of the strongest computer viruses: I
wasn't sure which and how many places I had to clean to remove the
"feature". Hence, I could have caused worse damage than leaving the bug. And
since nobody outside Borland has the history of changes, the removal becomes
trickier.
