I don't know if I would throw out the hardware, I tend to treat
hardware the way some people treat cars, it gets parked out in the
back 40 somewhere in case a use can be found for it. The P1 in
question would make a decent firewall, mail server, or gateway,
etc. As for NT, doesn't that stand for Not Tested, Never Terrific or
something like that....

Network wiring probably causes more bald network admins then
male pattern baldness. It's always a good idea to keep a spare
30M cable around, then you can always swap bits around without
needing to move equipment around.
