You have missed the point of what those changes to isc4 mean!
To change a user password normaly you have to log as SYSDBA with
these enhancements you don't need that but you stil have to use the
same function (ib_console for example or any other tool that allows
to change a user password, i use ib_sql myself). Thus if you login
as YOURUSERNAME you can change your password as if you were SYSDBA
but you can only change YOUR password!.
