i'm using firebird test release .9...maybe that's the first problem :)
i'm downloading RC2 (for windows, btw) now... think I'll uninstall this test
version and try RC2.

Usually this means that either InterBase/Firebird isn't running or there's
firewall blocking connections (but I must admit I might be wrong here) -
where did you see this error? As it looks like you're getting this from the
server log.
-----correctamundo...but if i can access my database (even with local) the
server must be running...yes?
