One thing you should be aware if you're using the Windows version is that
for every user that attempts to log in, the security db is loaded, then a
query is run to validate the user (such query in turn has to pass db
security validation), then the security db is unloaded and other things are
validated against the target db, for example the roles.
This delay is wonderful for Internet applications.
