Duilio,
As Win2K is based on NT, FB get installed as a service. You can start and
stop it from the services control panel, or if included, the "InterBase
Server Manager".

Subject: [ib-support] installing FB on W2000 professional

today I installed FB on a PC running W2000 professional, v. 5.00.2195,
using the following install EXE:

Firebird-1-00-RC2.exe 2.868.213 05/01/02 20.12

The installation produced no error, but in the end I could not see the FB
icon at the lower/right side of the screen.

Connecting thru WISQL - thou - revealed that FB was alive and kicking: I
created a new database, created a new table and inserted a few records.

With no FB icon, I don't know how to stop FB if need be.

Is there a way to have the icon in its place ?

Thank you

Duilio Foschi
