The default installation should have put the Firebird root in C:\Program
Files\Firebird\ Yours looks different...
* My default installation put it into C:\Firebird on the server. Should I
uninstall and install to C:\programFiles\Firebird ?
You haven't mentioned the tool you are using to connect. Perhaps it is one
where you have to indicate the protocol.
* I'm using IB_SQL V 4.2.9.0
Are you sure that the client has the right version of gds32.dll
installed? It needs to be the one out of the build 794 kit, otherwise the
client won't know which port to listen to.
* gds32.dll is V WI-V1.0.0.794
Thanks
