Firstly,
is \=--\=\=-\=-= "Good day" in some kind of morse code?

Secondly, a sweep does not (TMK) remove any space. You need to backup and
restore to reduce the disk space taken up by a database.

Subject: [ib-support] BLOB space question

Good day
\=--\=\=-\=-=
I have a data entry that takes up 1.7 MB and I want to update it with a 7KB
entry.
Now will a sweep delete this space or is the already taken up space gone
for eternity. The reason
I am asking is I have a 4 GB database on a NT machine that fell over , so I
need to shrink some fields data to
get this smaller and Merge with a new database.

Thanks in Advance

Johannes
