Sean/Phil,
Regarding XP Home, I'm pretty sure I've successfully connected to a
Firebird server on it in the past. Just to make sure: Has anyone else here
successfully used an XP Home machine as a server and connected to it remotely?
Alan,
Regarding the directory name with spaces, ALL of my customers use directory
names with spaces, so that's not it. I'll try the telnet trick tomorrow.
Phil,
As for the firewall possibility, I had her go into the TCP/IP properties
and check the Advanced tab. The Firewall checkbox was unchecked. Is there
somewhere else I should be checking?
Anything else to try?
