I frankly don't know the in's and out's. I would expect that your
code that speaks wire protocol ought to behave like the C client
library. But, of course, you know that code and I don't. There may
be some way for the client to disable prefetch ... though I can't think
why. Perhaps by specifying a packet that's sized to a single result
set?
