Maurizio,

Firebird is based on the IPL (InterBase Public License), which
permits you to use the Firebird binaries for non-commercial and
commercial applications for free.

Also, if you want to create your own (tailored) installation
script of your application including Firebird binaries, then
you can do that.

But, if you create your own binaries with changes in the Firebird
source code, then you *must* make those changes publicly available.
(For example to the Firebird development team).
