I recently installed Firebird on a Redhat 7.3 machine, then a week later on
RH 8.0, have same problem:
Windows client programs (delphi/ibx) register an event as the programs
start. This worked fine when I had IB6.0.1 on RH6.2, but now, on those
unchanged programs, the FB/IB server locks up. Can't even shut the server
down, it's completely frozen. I've tried both firebird and IB6.0.1, both
behave the same. I turned off all event registration, re-compiled the
clients, and server sails right along, no problems. Unfortunately, I need
those events. I'm using the IBX component 'TIBEvents'.
Anyone have an idea?

PS - Sorry if this gets posted twice. I seem to be having trouble getting
it posted once.
