So, what will be the beter solution,
change IBX for xxX to be able to folow the future of FireBird or
keep the compatible version of FB 1.5 with gds32.dll and fbclient.dll rerouted.
we do need to rewrite all our datamodule and hope to get component compatible with D5.

IBX had made it clear in the past that it will not support new features
that Firebird will add and FB1.5 is aligning itself to be able to run
simultaneously with Interbase on the same system. FB 1.5 is renaming it's
modules, so there's no conflict with Interbase. It will still distribute a
"gds32.dll", but it will only redirect the API calls to "fbclient.dll",
which is the new Firebird client library. The new gds32.dll is only for
backwards compatibility for applications that didn't upgrade their
interface for FB 1.5. But, if you are going to install FB 1.5 on a system
where Interbase is already installed for another application than yours,
don't replace gds32.dll, because you very might break the other application.
Also, the plan for FB 2.0, is that gds32.dll might be dropped.
