Just the placement of "zero date" on the timeline. It's not something the
Delphi programmer should need to worry about (I don't!) since, with our
encapsulated database interfaces, the correct conversion is handled by the
structures our components present to the API.

No doubt the developers of the ODBC and JDBC drivers will have been
confronted by their own corresponding requirements for mapping the client
interface to the API; likewise, according to their suit, the people
working on the Python and PHP interfaces. Let's just be grateful for the
API. :-))
