1) Make a physical copy of the database, right now! then
finish reading this message.

2) Do NOT open the database with gbak or any other InterBase
utility.

3) WinHex may help, but it will require a lot of patience
and trial and error. InterBase/Firebird databases are not
just strings of data laid end to end. You'll need to filter
out the record headers and page structure then compensate
for the compression. It's a hassle.

4) Contact http://www.devrace.com/ibsurgeon/index.php the
ibsurgeon people, or me. They claim to be quick and relatively
cheap. I can fix the problem, but it won't be cheap.
