No, unfortunately, you can't change the limit. Index keys are limited
to 255 bytes. Non-binary collations double or triple the key length,
depending on their complexity.

By the way, I'm not the most easily offended person in the world,
but your pseudonym could be taken as somewhat vulgar by an
English speaker.
