Dave,
if this is kind of a primary key, you could simply have written
SQL.Add('CREATE TABLE "XXX" (');
SQL.Add('XXXNAME varchar(32) not null,');
SQL.Add('XXXNOTE fsz_memo,');
SQL.Add('CONSTRAINT SomeIndexName PRIMARY KEY(XXXNAME))');
