the Linux machine - TCP/IP will do the rest.
> On the other hand, can I use Interbase in a peer 2 peer network with win98 clients only?, i.e no Winnt/2000 server. I have only 5-7 client machines. No problem also - I use Local copies of Firebird on all my
Win98 clients to cut down network traffic, and can access
any of them from any other machine. Again you just need to
know 'where you put it'.
On Windows you need
<Machine Name>:C:\<directory>\<database>
on Linux you just loose the c:\ and put in the correct linux
path
As long as the Machine Names can be converted to IP
addresses all should work, I manually load them in the HOSTS
file so I don't need any overhaed to find them.
