Folks, I think questions like _what is better - IBO or FIBPlus_ are
not correct. What I can say surely - both are excellent client-side
engines having own advantages. And it seems nobody says _change IBO to
FIBPlus_ or back. Users of both are lucky - they can relatively easy
survive possible ongoing incompatibilitiy between IB and FB, see at

I'm not so lucky. I spent 2 month of 3 developers to migrate some
large applications from BDE to IBX and from IB to FB at the end of
2000 year. Just know all is fine, but I with fear wait for moment when
I will be forced to make this work once more. I already had a look
(perfunctory, of course) on both and my opinion is migration to
FIBPlus is simplier. But I can't say _simply_. Current FIBPlus is much
more powerful than IBX, from one side it is good - it can save
developer's time when making new application, but I'm afraid presence
of more nuances can result to loss of effectiveness when making _dumb_
fast migration of large volume of code. I'll live on IBX and patch it
by hands if needed while it will be possible and envy IBO and FIBPLus
users.
Best regards, Alexander V.Nevsky.
