Today I'm in cheap solutions (hehehe): if you are using IDE disks, you can
use a kind of box to easy remove the hard disk off and put it on another
machine. In that case, shadow will be usefull. I never found a usefull
situation for a shadow because of that 'same machine' requirement.
Another good thing it's gbak to produce a 'ready to work' file. I think this
is already on 'things to do list' on Firebird Project. A backup that
generates a file that can be used rigth away, without restore.
