Hi there

Almost all my clients run on novell netware, but I always use a dedicated
server for ib. You don't need to log on the machine that will run IB/FB,
just connect trougth port 3050. You appl could be in the netware server, and
you can use the netware server for backup of the database(s). You can use a
Linux box or a w2k pro.

Here are the three main reasons that I give to my clients:

1) Borland didn't not release any IB version for netware since 5.6;
2) If you use Firebird, it's more cheap to buy a Linux or W2KPro box that to
buy 5.6 licences :)
3) You have a very few support from the IB/FB comunity for Netware.

I hope this help you...
