It depends on which version of the code you want to work on:

> interbase.tar.gz

This the source code of the current v1.0 release -- aside from some
possible urgent bug fixes, this code will be deprecated once v1.0 has
been released.

> firebird2.tar.gz

This is the source code for the new "v2.0" C++ based code, this will be
the platform for the next major release.

Please note that the v2 code doesn't have all of the v1.0 fixes/features
(the code port was started in April/May), the next task of the project
will be to bring this code up to the v1.0 functional specs and perform a
long overdue house cleaning of the code/ports.
