if you are using a programming environment which has components that
incapsulate the API (ie Delphi, Kylix, C++Builder) then all is simpler.
Otherwise, I believe the API Guide has examples that will help you.

I think it is infeasible with the current security scheme of IB.
Not that the current security scheme is going to last much, either.
