The Install API has not been documented and was not released as part of
the Interbase IPL open-source code. It seems that Borland decided to
keep it to themselves.

Personally, I would recommend that you use David Robinson's Wise and(?)
InstallShield scripts to install the engine, which are available at his
site (the URL escapes me right now... but check for a link on
IBPhoenix).
