IB "resolves" deadlocks for you in a standard fashion:
if deadlock situation persists more that 10 secs (configurable in ibconfig file),
IB chooses one of participating statements and ends it, returning 'deadlock' error.

And yes, you can shut-down single database,
but you really do not need it to solve deadlocks.
