No it's a two-way server, so postings are accepted.

If you're having problems with postings, please have a look at a recent
posting from mark O'Donohue (I've copied below) which explains some
issues which are being experienced and are being addressed.

Hi All
The little program that I am using to convert the email into the
newsgroup, likes very plain posts, things like attachments or input
lines > 1000 chars, or attached ecards and it will not load the message
into the news interface.
Because of this some messages posted to the list do not appear in the
newsserver.
In addition posts to the newserver are send to the
ib-support@egroups.com address where the yahoo people check their from
address. If your from address does not match a registered email user
for ib-support it gets turfed out. This tends to happen to people who
have their email set up to fred@....

We are (well me really) are/is looking into the problem(s) and
hopefully a resolution will not be too far away. In the meantime, I
thought you might like to know why a few of the posts are missing.
I prefer the news interface as well, it is just going to take us some
time to get over some of these initial problems.
