On NT i start the interbase guardian service (which then starts
ibserver.exe) by calling net.exe like this net start "Interbase Guardian"
It works on NT4 and W2000. w2k and NT has net.exe in their search path, so
all you have to do is to call execute from whatever programming language
you're using.
