Not really.

Rule one is - don't go over 10,000. Performance will deteriorate, but no-one
has
yet had the time to study why.

Personally I tend to go for 1024 pages. FB/IB under NT seems to manage the
memory better than 8198. IB5.n shipped with a windows help file that
explained
how to check if you have the buffers right for a particular application. You
might want to look for it.
