Clearly my coffee hadn't kicked in. Long strings (char or varchar, not
blob) are part of the problem but the real issue is the fully expanded
record length. Please, don't sent me your longest table definition and
make me count to 32768 on my fingers, but if you have a record whose
aggregate length is over 32K, that might have been the problem.
