Sounds like a new versions feature or I forgot some tricks. Many times made
it with IB 4 when started develop of the large database, now it's structure is
stable enough.

Looking at bug's discussion in borland.public.interbase.ibconsole I made
conclusion that it is not stable tool now, it is better to use command-line
utilities.
And I was told by a few men that even in this case absence of error messages is
not guarantee of successful restore but personally I have not encountered it.

The general impression is that your .gbk was damaged by some way (hardware
problems at your customer, unsuccessful transfer etc).
