Subject RE: [ib-support] IB Service Manager Error
Author Don Schoeman
I'm replying to my own message since I found the problem.

I specified the server name as:
dspc:D:\Develop\ProAcc5\Shared\PASHARED.GDB.

I have figured out that the server name should only be:
dspc

Once connected to the server, the database connection can be established by
registering the database.

Subject: [ib-support] IB Service Manager Error

I'm running IB Client on a WinNT machine and is trying to connect to IB
Server on a Win2K machine. IB Server is running as a service. If I try to
connect to the server using IBConsole, I get the following error:

Cannot attach to services manager
service D:\Develop\Proacc5\Shared\PASHARED.GDB:service_mgr is not defined

However, the connection diagnostics tool successfully connects to the
database on the server:

DSPC:D:\Develop\Proacc5\Shared\PASHARED.GDB
Version : WI-V6.0.1.0

Attaching ... Passed!
Detaching ... Passed!

InterBase Communication Test Passed!

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Best Regards,
Don Schoeman
