Generally speaking, you use generators and assign them in triggers or use
GeneratorLinks if you use IBO. They are outside trasaction control, so
there may be holes in the sequence in case of lost connection/rollback.

It is not a new feature of IB6, but has been part of IB longer than I've
used IB.
