Hi:
Just spoke with someone who thought I was out of control. He said very simple and
you don't need all the registry access stuff.
Connecting to IBServer over network, tcp, assuming server is listening on port 3050,
how do I connect to my alias.
I was just talking to a fellow (Network Administrator) who couldn't understand why I
need the path on the server to the .gdb file. He said the server should be listening
on a port and for requests, designate another port for the communication and return
the requested result sets based on the database alias, not a hard path to the .gdb.
Why then do I have to specify the full path:
nts:C:\Dir\Dir\MyDatabase.gdb in IBDatabase which has an alias MyDatabase?
Any comment insight appreciated.
Best regards
