It is NOT the ambiguity which is not to be tolerated at all! It is the
unpredictability which results from it which is unacceptable. If the
ambiguity were predictable it could be documented and relied upon and kept.

I'm surprised you have not recognized how lucky you have been not to have
been bitten by this bug. Then again, perhaps your query results have been
different over the years and you just have not noticed it...
