For context take a look at my previous posting. But basically
it means that doing:
SELECT * FROM someTable WHERE someCondition...;
will return a resultset.

You can even return several resultsets but you would have to
use ADO on the client (ODBC also works if you enjoy hurting
yourself).

Anyway, IMHO ADO is one of those few good M$ things.
