Simon,
IB allready runs in the RAM ! are you fully
newbie about IT ?
you can't find a RDBMS compact than
it.
Your problem is about Storage Device.
Take a Look for a BIG cached SCSI HD
or Full Digital RAM DISK CARD.
Or create a Virtual RAM-DISK Drive and
move your *.GDB file on it. ( if your GDB little anough for to do it
)
( + set IB-TEMP dir to that drive

my knowledge is the writing to the harddrive the thing that takes the
most time. So if you were able to put the hole database in the RAM
then would it be really quick, wouldn't it.
