Simon,
IB allready runs in the RAM !  are you fully newbie about IT ?
you can't find a RDBMS  compact than it.
Your problem is about Storage Device.
Take a Look for a  BIG cached SCSI  HD or  Full Digital RAM DISK CARD.
Or create a  Virtual RAM-DISK Drive and  move your *.GDB file on it. ( if your GDB little anough for to do it )
( + set  IB-TEMP  dir to that drive )

Subject: [ib-support] Interbase in the memory (RAM)

Is it possible to make Interbase run in the memory of a machine. From
my knowledge is the writing to the harddrive the thing that takes the
most time. So if you were able to put the hole database in the RAM
then would it be really quick, wouldn't it.

Just a little thought that I have had.

Simon
